SAFE GIRLS Foundation is the only organization of its kind in India which provides a research based holistic safety education/training in a scientific way through its programs which are especially customized for girls. SAFE GIRLS is unique in its approach to the issue of violence against women, emphasizing that there are many interrelated aspects to the issue-most of which result from society’s attitude towards women. We are working to create society in which every girl and woman can live up to her full potential.

SAFE GIRLS was started as an initiative to counter the menace of gender based violence against women and girls in the wake of brutal 'Nirbhya' incident in Delhi in May 2014 by Lieutenant Colonel Rajesh Pawar. Since then it has grown in its geographical reach addressing the requirements of diverse groups. Currently a large number of concerned citizens and volunteers including some renowned educationists, psychologists, retired military and Police officers from across the country are associated with this initiative to make our society safer for women..

In recent years, there has been a steep increase in blatant violations and attacks on young girls and women across the country. Provision of adequate awareness and skills for self-defence seems to be the need of the hour. Not all times are girls and women in company of someone helpful. Hence, practical techniques for self-defence and security awareness can go a long way in assuring their well- being. SAFE GIRLS with its solid expertise in self-defence techniques and with an experience of training more than nine thousand girls volunteer to provide training and skills to girls and women all over India.

SAFE GIRLS Foundation is a not for profit organization which doesn’t entirely depend on contributions and is striving to achieve a self-sustenance model.
